I thought you might want to find out a little more about our writers. They are terrific. Module 2 is exploring leadership in practice issues so I though we could start with some of our more business minded writers.

For us, leadership involvement in various platforms such as the
UNAIDS Youth Advisory forum, Zimbabwe Youth Council and SAYWHAT has proven to
be more powerful than the intended purpose! At face value it may appear
to be preparing young people for socio-political and health development.
However, the reality is that working with and through SAfAIDS we have increased
our capacity to contribute tremendously to the economy, through deliberate
redirection of our leadership skills to innovative income generating strategies
such as establishing independent consultancy firms and private companies in
leadership coaching and real estate. "My debut book on leadership
development has made impressive sales since it already had a market from my youth development networks " says
Glen.
The leadership roles have also been an opportunity for visibility
and personal branding therefore cutting down marketing and advertising costs.
Being in a Board provided us an opportunity to become apt with preparing and
interpreting financial statements and project management plans, skills very
necessary for every business leadership. Bolivia tells us "I
have managed to blend well and take up the position of Assistant Manager in a
Real Estate company, therefore leading and transforming it into one of
Botswana's leading companies."
Our Message?
Young people must have a holistic approach to life and an
alertness for opportunities within their passions, translating them to
meaningful income generation activities. SAfAIDS youth leadership academy is an opportunity not to be missed!
